Meet The Team

A team that cares about your mind & body

Hello! My name is Kayla Jordan, a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor who is passionate about helping people achieve the highest quality of life. I enjoy being a part of my clients' journey to their best self through career counseling, vocational counseling, sex education, spirituality, and traditional counseling. Navigating career change, disability diagnoses, depression, anxiety, couples work, and psychoeducation fulfills me and I hope to be a vessel to your goal achievement.

I understand counseling can be a frustrating process, but know that we will work through it together by developing coping skills, self-care strategies, boundary setting, sexuality and gender expression, disability advocacy and awareness, and self-love. Our sessions will contain modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, with sprinkles of career, disability, and recreational therapy. While I am your therapist, I am also your cheerleader and a part of your support system ready to help you meet your goals!

I am under Clinical Supervision.

Counseling is not something that I chose, but rather something that chose me. Dealing with unresolved childhood trauma allowed me to seek therapy. Yes, therapists have their own therapists. Representation matters, having more clinicians of color is one of the reasons why I decided to go into therapy. As I reflect on my therapy experience, I am reminded of the tools that have helped me become a better version of myself. I use my experiences to help adults and adolescent women recognize their trauma and provide tools to start their healing journey.

Fun Fact: I  love to travel out of the country every year!

My name is Kayla Oates. I am in my fifth semester of graduate school at Mercer University. I have a focus on working with adolescence and young adults. The issues that I want to specialize in are trauma, anxiety, depression, and existential issues. I adopt several techniques from other disciplines, such as narrative therapy. It will be my pleasure to work with you.

Fun Fact: I  have a two year old miniature schnauzer named Skodi Lee, I  can solve a Rubik's Cube and Jhene Aiko is my favorite artist!
